Meet Dr. Zachariah: Highly skilled in Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery

Dr. Zachariah is a board-certified neurosurgeon who specializes in minimally invasive techniques to treat the conditions of the brain and spine. He completed his neurosurgical residency at Harvard Medical School / Massachusetts General Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident, and further refined his skills through a fellowship in minimally invasive neurosurgery at The Ohio State University.
 
His academic background is equally impressive—Dr. Zachariah earned his bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and went on to complete both his MD and PhD at UC San Francisco. He is also a published researcher, having contributed to over 20 journal articles and book chapters in leading medical publications, including Science, Nature Immunology, Journal of Neurosurgery, and Neuro-Oncology.

A Patient-First Approach

Dr. Zachariah believes that every patient deserves a treatment plan tailored to their unique needs. He takes the time to help patients fully understand their diagnosis and all available options, recognizing that surgery isn’t always the best solution. When surgery is needed, he focuses on minimally invasive techniques designed to reduce recovery time and improve outcomes.

Beyond the Operating Room

Outside of medicine, Dr. Zachariah enjoys an active lifestyle, spending his free time surfing, cycling, skiing, practicing yoga, and enjoying time with family and friends.
 
Dr. Zachariah serves as the Medical Director of Neurosurgical Oncology at Sharp Memorial Hospital and has privileges at Sharp Memorial, Sharp Grossmont, Sharp Chula Vista, Scripps Mercy Hospital, and Scripps Mercy Hospital, Chula Vista.

We are safely open and practicing social distancing. Due to COVID-19 we are limiting our operations to essential and emergent appointments only.

To protect our patients and our staff we ask if possible, please come to your appointment alone. If you are unable to attend alone, please bring along one other healthy person.
