Marcus Zachariah, MD, PhD
Dr. Zachariah is a board-certified neurosurgeon. He completed his neurosurgical residency training at Harvard Medical School / Massachusetts General Hospital, where he was Chief Resident. Dr. Zachariah received his bachelor’s degree from University of California, Berkeley and his MD and PhD degrees from University of California, San Francisco. He completed a fellowship in minimally invasive neurosurgery at The Ohio State University.
Dr. Zachariah has authored over twenty journal articles and book chapters in publications including Science, Nature Immunology, Journal of Neurosurgery, Neurosurgery, Operative Neurosurgery, and Neuro-Oncology.
Dr. Zachariah’s practice emphasizes minimally invasive techniques. He understands that not all patients require surgery, and he prioritizes helping patients better understand the treatment options for their particular diagnosis.
In his free time, Dr. Zachariah enjoys spending time with family and friends, surfing, cycling, skiing, and yoga.
Dr. Zachariah holds a medical directorship in neurosurgical oncology at Sharp Memorial Hospital. He has privileges at Sharp Memorial, Sharp Grossmont, Sharp Chula Vista, and Scripps Mercy hospitals.
